Should I accept my job offer? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by I-OP-As-Supersonic
I went in and interviewed for a barista job, and I was offered the job. Overall, do you think the work environment will be good for a 16 yr old guy? I appreciate your feedback.

Yep! It’s one of the better places to work for a teen in my opinion (worked there in high school). Right now it is not the greatest time to work at Starbucks but it’s not going to be much different anywhere else and at least you will get free spotify and coffee and that’s a great perk for a 16 year old.

i’m 19 now, started when i was 17. i think it really helped with my social skills and small talk. i was pretty socially awkward before i started, not sure if that applies to you as well. it’s one of the better jobs to get while your in high school, although the hours may be tough at a store near you. benefits are the best you’re going to get from a company at 16. also, free college! the job isn’t easy, but if you have a good team you’ll be fine.

I agree! This job had really helped with my social skills. I’ve always been “shy” - a year after working there, one of my shift leads told me jokingly “I like you because your loud and I can hear what your saying” and that was something I never thought of myself as. Loud and heard.
It’s a lot of stuff to remember and definitely takes awhile to feel comfortable in every position- but if your looking for something with flexible hours and cool perks you’ve found it. Maybe you’ll meet some new friends! Every Starbucks Ive worked at- all the partners are mostly awesome people. They definitely attract a certain type of work force. I’ve had tons of jobs- but I stayed at Starbucks a whole year and some longer than any other job I’ve held.
