293 here. Ive been with the company for like 8 momths or something and i’ve learned how shit corporate is. The blatant disregard for the lives of the baristas, and the intense favoring of customers over baristas has made me hate work. Ive found that, as a 17 year old, the stupid amount of stress i take every shift isnt worth it

Absolutely quit.
I can promise you one thing, they don’t care about you.
I worked at Starbucks for 2 years. Now I am fortunate enough to not need employment, and let me tell you. Being free of Starbucks is liberating.
There was a time I worked 2 jobs and almost 70 hours a week. I LOVED it, and I was so happy with both of my jobs.
Then I relocated out of the USA and had to start over, enter Starbucks. Even working a few days a week felt like a nightmare.
You’re young. Get an education. Get a job somewhere where your employer shows you they care, with money. Starbucks is not the way.

How were you able to work at a Starbucks in another country with US citizenship? Did they sponsor you?

Just quit. I know you don’t get paid enough

I’m a 272 and this is where I’m at. The only thing keeping me here is my college. The company has changed so much in two years and the entitlement from the customers makes me want to walk out. One thing a lot of sm’s don’t want you to know is we have the right to refuse service if someone is making you uncomfortable or just being terribly rude.

It honestly might be your management that's the issue, sometimes when a manager considers customers more important than partners they focus on "making the moment right" for customers always, but will never follow our company policy for customers to treat everyone even partners with respect... if your management followed both starbucks policies they'd for sure know how to balance the value of customers and partners. A customer is never allowed to abuse a partner, not even verbally. You dont even need a supervisors permission to ask the customer to leave if you feel a customer isnt following our 3rd place rules you as a barista can tell them they have to change their attitude or leave the store. If you dont want to handle it you can ask a supervisor to handle it. If the customer is a regular problem you can file an incident report on the ipad... what worked for me was transferring to a store where the manager valued the partners equally... it might take some asking around though! Good luck with whatever you find is best for you!

I’m sorry. I feel this in my bones. 223 here and like, I used to like my job when I got hired back in 2016 but my first store left me jaded af and at my new store, the SM does so much back-bending for our shit customers that I really debate just walking out sometimes.
I love what I do, but I dunno if maybe it’s just Starbucks.
If you’re feeling this way, I would say just quit if you have the ability to do so. It’s not worth the stress.
