Y'all, I just got what is close to my dream job and after only six months with The Siren, I'm calling it quits. I honestly don't even want to finish my two weeks because my store is a shit show. Severely understaffed with mostly green beans, a total of 4 SSVs including me and usually at least one call out a shift. I work 9 hour closing shifts 5/6 days a week on top of clean plays. I have three kids at home that I've barely seen the past 5 months. I've missed school events, ball games, birthdays, family plans ect. I would love nothing more than to spend these next three weeks getting my house back in order and seeing my family but my husband is 100% against it because I provide the only income :/
So I'm gonna be on the verge of walking out until my last day. If only if only.

Congratulations on the new job!!! Hang in there. It’s harder when you know you don’t really have to put up with it anymore. Maybe take a day or two and use your sick pay?

How do you actually use the accrued sick time? I have 19 hours saved up.

When I used mine I just asked my store manager to add them into payroll for me before the pay period ends. I’m not sure if there was a certain protocol to follow- my store never did if there was. I’d for sure use them though because they just disappear if you don’t! You deserve them.
