I liked it when I was a teenager as my first job but not as an adult and definitely not now with shortages of everything. Depends on where you’re at in life and what you can handle

Been with the siren for just about a year. I love it. But I know many are not as lucky as I am: I have an amazing team and I’ve become really good friends with everyone on my shift. It’s what makes or breaks the job - shit coworkers, you won’t handle it. Good coworkers, you’ll have fun. Good luck

Been with starbucks for about half a year now. It's been hell. Absolute hell. The managers/coworkers really make or break your experience. It's not even the customers. My customers are all very nice. It's some of my team that really makes me hate it.

While you'll eventually know how to do whatever portion of the job they have you stationed at that day, it's definitely a huge learning curve. Take it day by day, shift by shift, and hour by hour. Please be kind to yourself as you're figuring out sbux and its systems. You're capable and you've got this!

I’ve been working there about a month — it can be hard depending on your experience and what your expectations are. If you’ve worked in retail or hospitality, that’s good. If you’re brand new to the field, expect it to feel a little overwhelming at times.

There’s different roles: drive thru and front involve taking orders on the computer system and paying out customers.
Warming is heating up and preparing food.
Bar is making drinks.
Customer support is restocking, making backups, cleaning, brewing coffee, etc.

You’ll do all of these at some point but from what I’ve heard most people don’t get put on bar until 2-3 months in so don’t worry about having every drink memorized right away.

It’s a lot to learn, but everyone starts out feeling a little overwhelmed and lost. Everyone gets it, and they’ll expect you to have questions, so don’t feel alone in that.

I haven’t started yet but I’ve gone to the interview and got the job, it’s a super chilled out interview process and they’re really nice and welcoming to you. If you get the job I would most likely focus of the positives of the entire thing like learning and making it a cool lifestyle for you rather than a huge learning gap. My mindset for my first shift is: it’s going to be hard but that’s what i thought when i was learning to drive and i thought i’d never get it but i’m driving everyday now. Everything’s gonna be hard and stressful at the start but you’ll learn eventually :)
