Shift Supervisor interview (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Meggilli91
I have an interview Monday for a shift position. I haven’t worked at Starbucks since 2013…lol What kind of questions should I expect?

$1

i recently promoted a few weeks ago and i’m pretty sure this is the exact form they used to interview me. they only ended up asking me two or three of those questions though, and the rest of the interview was just getting to know me and my skills and such. i’d definitely recommend that you look over those pages and prepare some answers (if you think you need to), and there’s also some really helpful info on there about what they are and aren’t looking for !!!!

at the very end of the interview they asked if there was anything else i would like to share about myself that would make me a good shift supervisor, so maybe think of an extra selling point or two! (for example- i shared that i was a girl scout for 13 years so i have a *ton* of leadership experience, which is really important as a shift and they really liked that)

good luck on your interview!! ☕️💕

Coming from a current barista, it all really depends on who the SM is what kind of questions youll get. Some are more chill and friendly, and others are more direct and formal, etc. Some might not even care bc theyre desperate for hires lol.

Maybe check out the store beforehand and get the vibes. I popped into my store a little bit before my interview and familiarized myself with the space and observed the baristas.

I feel like since there are a lot of younger (teen) new employees you might have to be responsible for minors who are working their first job. So be prepared to hold your ground and reason with them. Not saying teens arent hard workers, they just typically need more reinforcement in direction and instruction, especially if theyve never worked before.

As for your interview, be honest and receptive. Give authentic answers, and exude confidence. Good luck!

I actually got the low down on the manager interviewing me since my old Barista friends are still partners. I think I’ll be just fine. I’ve been told the girl is super chill and we’re close in age. I’m honestly kinda excited at the possibility of being back haha
