How are you doing? These are all the mobile orders that weren’t picked up this morning. We were up to a 35/40 minutes wait with 380 other customers by 10a when I was able to shut off MOP (i.redd.it)

It is incredible to me that MANY people on a DAILY basis will order drinks to the wrong store. All day I’m dealing with mobiles that aren’t picked up, or customers showing me their order that they placed to a different Starbucks.

Is it that hard to just double check before you place an order? Apparently so.

While that is probably true most days for us today, it was simply a warm, Father’s Day on cape cod. They likely didn’t want to wait the time it took to find the order. 🤷🏻‍♀️ also worth noting, in our area if one stores mobile is off, sometimes you don’t realize that it’s been placed at another store. Even though it asks you to check.

customer here! I love the baristas at this store so much! always so friendly even when it’s crazy busy🙂

My favorite is when the customer insists they placed it to our store. They don’t even consider it a possibility. Then they show me their app and “oh look you placed it at the store up the road. Huh.”

Wait you can shut off mobile order??
Kmsss [OP] 22 points 2y ago
Yup. Though you’re told you should never, there are times when it is too impactful to the customer experience.
impasse602 4 points 2y ago
How? Nobody really tells you how cause i fear we might have to use it today
Kmsss [OP] 7 points 2y ago
There’s a long email address you message with your store number and to either shut it off and turn it back on
Kmsss [OP] 5 points 2y ago
Your store manager or a shift managers should be able to do it
hopelovepeace33 2 points 2y ago
It has to be done through your SM emailing the DM requesting it to be shut off & it has to basically be an absolute emergency for them to allow you to turn off mobile orders.

We do it when we’re short handed on night shift (which is more often than it should be.)
Solid_Temperature_38 3 points 2y ago
You’re never supposed to do it? We shut them off like twice a week😭
Kmsss [OP] 6 points 2y ago
Yeah. The problem with turning them off is that people get used to it when it’s a little busy. Instead of working hard. This was during peak, with only six partners. Definitely not ideal definitely understaffed but we killed a lot of those orders. I didn’t turn off Mobile‘s until 10 AM. After peak. Mostly because we need to get people on breaks, and clean up a little bit.

My store doesn’t even take mobile orders but I love when people come up to us showing us a mobile order they placed at different location and insisting that it has to be our store that they placed the order for. Despite us not even being a mobile order store.

And this was after I was telling people that they could get a refund if they couldn’t wait.
