Had to kick out a “customer” today for sexually harassing a barista at the register. Tried to claim “c**chie” was his last name, even though his latter comments to her were also way over the line. No sir, you picked the wrong Shift today. Don’t let the door hit you.

i appreciate you, as a former barista. when i was a green bean (16 years old!!) a guy in his 30s tried to insist i put his name as “p*rn star”, i kid you not. i firmly told him no and that i could not put it on the cup but it made me severely uncomfortable to have to have that debate with a stranger twice my age. when I left the ssv know after the fact (he eventually gave me a normal name) they just laughed it off. made me really uncomfortable.

I’m sorry that happened to you. “Maintaining the third place” is supposed to go for partners too, and it’s unfortunate that he didn’t do that for you.

When I worked there at 17 it was such a common occurrence and no one ever did anything. One guy (40+) bought a coffee, went straight to the trash can and threw it away so he could come back and reorder from me. Yes he told me he did this on purpose and tried to talk to me for the next twenty minutes and then finally left.
