I just moved from a licensed store (safeway starbucks) to an actually licensed store. I’m shocked with all the differences! Could someone help me out? (self.starbucksbaristas)

-what are the breaks like? (at my old store it was 10 min for 7 hours and under, 15 min for 7.5 hours and 20 for 8 hours.
-what is a partner number?
-how do you get the free drink/food per day?

So you get a partner number assigned to you and thats how you clock in/out. And you use your number to get your free drinks/ food/ coffee markout. As for breaks I believe it depends on your state / country.

Hi sweets, do not be afraid to ask your co workers they will definitely help you understand and get used to all the new things. As someone else said your partner number is used to clock in and out, when you order a drink and food you give those same numbers for it to be free, your coworkers will know but if you are at another location just tell them you have your partner number and verify your name after you give it and it will work the same! (One drink and food thing a day) you also use it on the partner hub where you can see/use all the benefits. For my store in St. Louis we get a 10 minute break under 6 hours, and at 6 a 10 minute break and 30 minute unpaid lunch

Did you happen to work at a store inside of a grocery (target, kroger, Whole Foods) ? Because I recently went from a target starbucks to a corporate store and there so many differences I wouldn’t have even thought of.

Yeah so the main differences I’ve noticed:
Drive thru- at my first store, we didn’t even have a drive thru, so this part was all new to me. There’s going to be two positions, order taking and window (handprint payments and giving out drinks)
Partner numbers- 7 number code that you’ll use to clock in and out and to get your discount, and to log into the partner hub.
Discount- 1 free drink and food item when you’re not working 1x a day. + 50% off any additional drinks in your order. You also get 30% off merchandise like cups and stuff & a free coffee mark out— which you can pick your own bag of coffee to take home.
Uniform- I’m not sure how strict your store will be but at my first one, we were allowed to wear any black shirt, and have our nails done and we had to wear the hats, but at my new store they’re very strict about the no-logo on the shirt rule. So many of us wear out T-shirts inside out. Also no nails, and luckily we don’t have to wear hats either.
Mobile orders- they’re very simple, they print out chronologically just like any other order. And usually if a customers drink isn’t on the bar & there’s not anymore stickers, they’ve selected the wrong store to get their drink at lol.
Tips- every week you’ll get tips which are split between everyone who works. At my store I usually get $13-19 a week.

That’s all I can think of now specifically, if you have any questions please just lmk !!

Cool thing to know: there are many people at your new store that can and will help you in anyway they can. Mostly because helping you out with that information online in a public forum could get someone in trouble. We don't share this information with the public to prevent any misuse or abuse of private information. Hope you enjoy your new store and lots of luck!!!
