A year or 2 ago there was a huge black out in SF that had also affected the neighborhood I work in. We were short staffed and busy with kids and parents during the usual morning rush and then all of a sudden we just got insanely slammed. There was a line that went outside and around the corner and we had no idea why. Turns out that was the day we all learned my store has a backup generator. We didn’t even know there a blackout until customers were saying “I’m so surprised you and next door(a brunch spot at the time) are open. Turns out my starbz and the brunch spot were the only 2 places that had power and we both just slammed for a good couple of hours. Our lights never flickered and our acting SM who was really a shift refused to answer her phone to come help. She claims she never got our calls but multiple people had the proof on their call logs on their phones lol. Shittiest day ever. I mean we still shitty days but that particular day took the cake.
