Grindz (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by BoringBrittany
Soooo the health inspector told me today that the Grindz used to clean the grinder is technically a food… so i promptly ate one. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend. It tastes like chalk.

I mean everything's edible at least once

My favorite thing to tell baristas the first time they clean the grinder is that the tablets are edible. 9/10 times people eat them 😂
BoringBrittany [OP] 18 points 2y ago
I was the first person at my store to eat them lol
sydbey_ 3 points 2y ago
ok but why
BoringBrittany [OP] 5 points 2y ago
Why not?
sydbey_ 4 points 2y ago
I don’t really want to elaborate why you shouldn’t eat things that are meant to clean equipment. you do you
idk-what-user-2pick 19 points 2y ago
Imma add this to my list of facts that won't be useful anywhere lmao

I’ve been to 4 stores. Every time I transfer I find someone who’s willing to eat one. Funny every time! My first time I convinced my entire 4 person crew to eat one lol
WillaFox 9 points 2y ago
And they are gluten free
BoringBrittany [OP] 9 points 2y ago
They do act like it’s an advertisement with that
Huge_Crab_7425 9 points 2y ago
Lmao that’s why keeping them with the chemicals is a qasa violation

Ok I was able to convince a Barista (say thank you to the big T) to take one with me and this was our analysis:

It smells like vitamin C and saw dust

- kind of like those huge horse pill vitamins

The texture is similar to compressed powder (duh ig)

It tastes like saw dust and sadness, it tastes like a barista's shattered hopes and dreams compressed into a nice little powdered tablet that you can share with friends.

- overall 9/10, wouldn't take them too often, but will recommend to partners that are a little *too* happy.

Honestly an amazing analysis. I have since convinced 3 baristas to try them. We even tried putting it in water. Still bad
Coffee-Bae 3 points 2y ago
Yeah, can't imagine they would be good in any capacity. Maybe try it in orange juice, I feel like the pulp and citrus would hide it
Ok-Responsibility735 5 points 2y ago
I almost fell over laughing.

jupiter_bug 3 points 2y ago
They look like vitamins
Improvmomolyfe 3 points 2y ago
I’d always wondered actually. I was like “how’s it cleaning it but we don’t rinse it or anything”
starchildcos 2 points 2y ago
I still can not believe you ate one... and then dissolved it in water to see if it tasted better that way
BoringBrittany [OP] 2 points 2y ago
Don’t attack me
verdeuce 1 points 2y ago
So is the salt for the softener. Can’t be stored with chemicals
