In my little town in PA…. Outside of Pittsburgh…. My daughter Lili and I would go to Starbucks to do homework. We would sit at the bar because all of the baristas would take time to come over and say high. We knew them all by name and they knew Lili. We would talk about math and school and fun stuff.

Every once in a while there would be some frappicino left over and the barista would put it in a small cup with whipped cream. Talk about making someone feel special and making a new friend.

Would we get math homework done…. Of course…. Some nights more than others…. But we made a lot of great memories.
