why do we add extra pumps of syrup in hot vs cold drink? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by keian_nr
might be a really stupid questions. I'm genuinely curious though. Like, why would a venti iced vanilla latte get 6 and not 5 pumps of vanilla?

It has been bothering me for a little. Cheers to whoever solves my lil internal crisis <3

Because the venti iced is 26oz and the venti hot is 20oz

you and u/KL258 are the best. For some reason I have huge issues perceiving object sizes so I never really saw the difference. Now I know!

Regardless, scary amount of sugar LOL, Thanks again both of you <3

Because it is more ounces

Because it gets an extra shot of espresso and it’s more oz. that’s like asking why a grande only gets 4😭

Lol yea I remember having an AHA moment with that one time and then I would always train it that way to the green beans!

That's so intuitive, though!! Maybe it's easier to just explain the extra pump away, but I wish my trainer would've said "the cup is bigger, so you add more (an extra pump/shot)." My five years old brain would catch onto that INSTANTLY. I appreciate you, I bet yr green beans do too!!

Venti hot cup~ 20oz
Venti cold cup~ 24oz
Adding just more milk would make it more milky with no flavor. So we add more shots and more syrup.
