1. You can have a supervisor cover your shift if they aren’t already close to 40 hours.
2. If you can’t find coverage then just call out the day of your shift. Worse thing that will happen is that you are given a warning / write up. Just don’t make it a habit of calling out, if you need a day off, try to request it off asap. I know things can happen unexpectedly.

You can always call local stores in your district and ask if any of their partners want the shift

Some of this depends on the reason. A good reason (school, medical, etc) your SM should work with you on or just okay being down a person for the day. If you just want to go to a party or smthn your SM will likely just tell you to find your own coverage.
SS can cover if your SM okays it (see paragraph one)
You can also call other nearby stores and they will either pass you phone numbers or check in themselves.
If your SM doesn’t give the okay for an absence and if no coverage is found, and you don’t show up, you’ll likely get a write up (unfun convo with SM) and depending on the reason your coworkers may be annoyed with you. But it’s usually a 3 strikes you’re out sort of deal, so one day should be fine.

Yes shifts can cover you, if no one can, call out sick. Don’t say what sickness just say sick.
