Barista Certification Question (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by noodledoodlezz
I’ve been working at Starbucks for just over a month and have heard the store manager mention that new hires will have to complete the barista certification (at least I think that’s what it’s called lol) in the next few weeks. From what I understand that just means the manager will watch you make a set of drink and ensure you have recipes and beverage sequencing down, correct? Also just wondering if anyone knows what the standard drinks you will be required to make are? Thank you!

yea ur manager will watch u sequence a couple of beverages, making sure u follow correct beverage sequencing and milk steaming routines and stuff. I think the drinks i made were a caramel macchiato, a vanilla latte and a white mocha. it was pretty easy and only lasted 20 minutes or so

I’ve been at a licensed store for 5 months and am pretty sure I’m not certified. And other than my manager I am the most senior barista 😬

I work at a licensed store! our training might slightly different but you're correct! for my certification my lead also had me tell her the correct sequencing for drinks as well as make them.
