Nitro and Venti cups (self.starbucksbaristas)

Okay so this was sometime in the afternoon and a young lady who came in with her boyfriend ordered something. I took the order and it was a grande nitro with extra scf in a venti cup. My coworker on cafe bar calls me when we they get the sticker and tells me we can’t put it in a different cup. I know you don’t put it in a venti cup but I didn’t think it would matter because of the extra foam. Told the lady about it and that it was dumb thing we have so she got a refund. Before that she said a other Starbucks did it for her so Idk now if I’m wrong or right.

i’m almost positive they can order it like that on the mobile app (not 100% sure), so we just put it in a venti cup if they want extra ice or extra foam. it’s really not worth us arguing over—it’s just a cup. put it in a venti cup if that’s what they want. starbucks needs to loosen its asshole smfh

Yeah we have people order it like that in the store too and we just do it for them. Some people want ice in theirs so they get a venti cup.

The way my old sm told us was, we can only put nitros in a venti cup if it has ice, if they don’t want ice but want extra foam or whatever, there’s going to be a lot of empty space, so just ask if that’s ok. I didn’t receive an explanation as to why there’s no venti nitros, but my guess is that it’ll start going flat as soon as it’s filling up.

Correct. It's a combination of beverage quality being impossible to uphold in that size, and the iced venti cups being 24 or 26 ounces or something and just HOW MUCH coldbrew that would use. It would be incredibly difficult to keep up with coldbrew demand if we did venti nitros.

i’ve been told we’re not allowed to put ice in nitro cold brews for them, but i feel like i would be more inclined to put it in a venti cup for extra foam. ngl i feel like if you add ice to a nitro you are being “the other starbucks.” it’s against standard
