Describing Starbs on your resume (self.starbucksbaristas)

How could you describe your responsibilities as a barista on your resume?

preparing food and crafting beverages , creating genuine customer connections and experiences, cash management, works well in a fast paced stressful environment

This is close to what's on my resume and the example I would cite in an interview if asked what my resume means:

Deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, complex setting (placate Karen while warming Steve's croissant and remembering what's next to brew)

Maintain current state food safety certification

Rapidly implement complex specifications at high demand (make TikTok monstrosities during peak)

Maintain facility in compliance with state, local, and corporate guidelines (cleaning the ice machine during Clean Play)

Petty cash management (making change and putting twenties in the box not the till)

I can barely froth 2% milk without it attacking me and I know how to make customer connections

lmao the worst is for a matcha tea latte where the powder gets everywhere after trying to steam the milk

I shut down for a few seconds after that happens

You’re probably positioning the pitcher too low while aerating it. Slowly bring the pitcher down as you’re steaming the milk and when you hear the paper cutting noise hold it there for about three seconds. If your milk is flying everywhere the tip of the steam wand is too close to the surface and your milk isn’t gonna have that nice micro foam.

Making beverages and food, taking orders over drive thru and in person, and keeping the store clean and orderly throughout the day

According to the 5 classes on resume building I’ve taken in college, the best way to build a resume is to describe the actions you took, then follow it up with how what you did made a measurable difference at your store.

We all brew coffee so that isn’t going to stand out to future employers
