What is considered a long time in the drive thru? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by cringeqween13
Had a lady say "this is the longest I've ever waited" when she got to the window yesterday. It had been less than 10 minutes from the box to the window and her drinks were ready to be handed out as soon as she was at the window.

Those are the kinds of people you can’t please regardless - they’re just having a rough day or a rough life. They saw how long the line was and they got in it anyway. This is Starbucks. If they wanted speed they should have gone to a local shop which doesn’t have our volume. You’ll get someone like that again but unless it was like a 30 minute wait you don’t need to worry.

I just wish people would realize starbucks is not fast food. Yes we have a drive thru and function like fast food, but the only thing similar to other fast food places is the food but even then we only have so many ovens.

To me, 10 minutes is a pretty long time, however there’s only room for 4 cars from box to window. i’d say we get most cars through in about 4-5 minutes

My store has an average of like 15 minutes after peak. Idk why we still have customers…

After peak we slow down but we rarely get a full break. Lately we've been having a 2nd peak hit at night which is usually when we're understaffed.

Its all relative to your area but 5-6 minutes at peak is pretty common. When it reaches 9 its time to get moving. If it hits 12 its free.

This wasn't during our official peak. Her total wait time was under 10 minutes and she was at the window for less than a minute. Like sorry the person in front of you decided to add 3 more frapps at the window.
