Corporate are you there? Fuck you entirely! On behalf of everyone that works in your stores.
is_it_soy 54 points 2y ago
And on behalf of everyone that no longer works in your stores.
Oscar_L_de_Jarjayes 5 points 2y ago

Br0kenbean 87 points 2y ago

The whole shortage is their fault in the first place. God, corporate are a bunch of idiots. Literally, covid happens and most fast food places SIMPLIFIED their menus, not add to it! This is why none of us have caramel drizzle and fucking lemonade and strawberries, etc. They are running their company into the ground and they act like they're completely oblivious about it. I have so many regulars who are pissed at Starbucks as a company for not only the shortages, but for how short staffed and over worked we are. Everyone can see it. I mean during peak sometimes they're waiting ten or more minutes because we can't keep up with drive through, mobile, and cafe orders. A now a lot of customers can no longer get their favorite drinks anymore, not even fucking basic ass drinks like a caramel macchiato or Frappuccino. I'm sick of getting yelled out for being out of caramel drizzle, like it's my fault. Wtf. "What am I supposed to get then? I only ever get a caramel macchiato!" Idgaf dude, get nothing for all I care lol
Br0kenbean 76 points 2y ago
Right?! You’d think that would be a no brainer to simplify the menu! Mark my words, Starbucks has changed for the worst with covid. They refuse to admit we’re becoming more mainstream fast food and not giving us resources to handle the increased demand.

And we get yelled at for putting up signs of what we’re out of (they only let us put up corporate approved signage) so we just have to tell people what we’re out of at the register.

Yeah, it's completely ridiculous. I've worked for Starbucks for a total of 6 years on and off and when I started off, it was SO much better than this. What makes me the most mad is that they are so concerned with "customer connections" and we have absolutely no time for it. I mainly work during peak hours and, I'm sorry, but we do not have time for customer connections. Constantly are we getting bitched at for not having good customer connection scores on the app reviews but like... what am I supposed to do?? I can have better customer connections but guess what? It's also gonna cost time and I dont think in the long run that's going to help. This isn't a cafe only store, I don't have enough time for that. The company needs to figure out what means the most to them. Thank fuck I only have 2 more shifts left with the company or else I'd probably blow my brains out. I am so sorry for anyone who has no other option but to continue working for this disaster of a company.

i thought 10-15 minute waits were normal, cause its been consistently like that since i first started working here a month ago. pretty wild that its not normal i guess? some waits we have are getting to be 20-30 minutes now consistently the past 2 weeks which i think is our new normal. also we close the lobby down at 4-5pm often now too because by that time theres typically only 3 people in the store.
deathbreadstick 14 points 2y ago
We used to have 5 to 8 minute wait times but lately yeah, its been 10-15 minutes or longer during peak hours but we are constantly birched at to be faster even tho it's physically impossible especially because if people quitting. Me myself, I am leaving in 2 days so yeah, it'll probably be even log er since they haven't hired anyone else nevertheless even trained someone. They gonna be fuckeddddd.
rudebii 7 points 2y ago
I don’t know what targets are now, but it used to be 2:00 SoS times.
The_walking_man_ 11 points 2y ago
It’s been absurd!
Not to mention how little we are being paid. They haven’t kept up with that at all, and every other retail and entry level spot around our area pays more than what starbucks is offering. Yet they wonder why everyone is leaving and quitting. 🙄
We see the sells, we see they are profiting immensely and yet still can’t give us a raise. All while adding to the menu, adding to workload, etc.
shikiP 26 points 2y ago
The friendlist thing I can say is I hope the shortages cause the stock to drop and for the shareholders to lose. But theyd probably just lay off a bunch of baristas. God I hate these drinks.
Millerboycls09 19 points 2y ago
We all complained about how much time and energy goes into these drinks and corporate makes them easier to order and does nothing to make them easier to make.
Br0kenbean 31 points 2y ago
If we’re gonna be build-a-drink workshop, we ought to start remodeling stores to have better cold bar areas so we can have more people on bar. A lot of older stores just don’t have the capacity for enough people on bar.

Better staffing would help too!
Willowstorm9 5 points 2y ago
Only if the remodels are free and the labor costs even less than now.
cringeqween13 16 points 2y ago
Can we PLEASE put all corporate employees on one starbucks and see how fast everything goes to shit

If only they had good coffee to offer or accept they're just a glorified flavor mixing iced drink shop with cold foam toppers to *everything*
ianbz 4 points 2y ago
They’re so out of touch with how the stores work… I’ve been on leave since mid-May because my family got covid and I caught it right after them, and now I’m terrified to go back. I heard they’re letting us blend food into fraps for people now??? I’m gonna lose my mind
deeciphered 3 points 2y ago
I have so many people when I'm on DTO be you mean you didn't order enough again! And I try to explain the shortage and they just sorta huff at me and are like stop making excuses for not ordering enough. I mean for every customer like that we have customers who are very understanding.

Then you get the customers who come through drive every day asking for the same thing we've been out of for two months. And I'll tell them "We're actually out of that item and likely will be til at least the end of the summer" and still they'll ask tomorrow.

The whole social sips thing is gonna make this so much worse. Especially when they order "the tik tok drink and don't know what it is but expect us to because "it's on your menu" and now it even sorta is on our menu.
0x52and1x52 -6 points 2y ago
I think the Social Sips thing is a good idea and will save us a lot of time trying to interpret whatever customers are saying half the time.
Oscar_L_de_Jarjayes 7 points 2y ago
Easier to get the recipe in but not easier to make nonetheless with shortages and constantly missing ingredients
Anxious_Database 3 points 2y ago
Yeah until they come through drive thru being like “but I have this thing it just says scan it I want the moon drink” and we have to interpret their whiney bullshit
