Point System coming to Starbucks? (self.starbucksbaristas)

Has anyone heard anything about a new point system in regards to being late and call outs? I’ve heard very little about it but from what I’ve heard of other businesses that have this it isn’t great.

yeah I just had a talk with my manager about it last week. its kinda confusing but now they can combine "offenses" and it could add up to something like a write up or final warning. for example, if you walk off the floor and curse while doing so you could literally be fired

I agree that nobody should be cursing on the floor unless they get hurt and it slips out but being fired is a bit overboard. If the old rules still apply such as if you call out four hours ahead when sick and the 2 minute leeway for clocking in without getting points I don’t think it’ll be to bad. If we get points for calling out sick though, even with calling out for hours ahead, thats not ok.

sick call outs still protected but when I asked about that she says it would lead to a conversation if it happened too often which is fair

All I’ve seen of it is that one TikTok video so I’m doubtful.
But- I sure wish they’d do something about the NCNS and excessive call outs. It’s exhausting to always show up even when you’re not feeling your best while other people call out over nothing or just don’t show up.
