I have currently been employed with Starbucks for just under 3 years working at a franchise drive thru store. From the store open to now everything has been an utter shit show with no care for staff or mental health. As I write this currently we have a supervisor working an 18 hour shift who shouldn’t be working due to illness being forced to stay open or risk getting fired. Currently all surrounding drive thru stores are closed or partially closed due to staff testing positive for covid, our store however is being kept open (due to the volume of money it makes) and our staff is being dispersed amongst other stores to help cover staff. This means that our staff are being moved around cities and stores where covid is high and then being forced to come back to our store to work more shifts.
On top of all this, the higher ups have now told us that if anyone has to take time of due to covid you won’t be getting paid anything.
Honestly everyone feels horrible and uncomfortable working in our store as thing rapidly get worse and worse. Is there any precautions that we can take as staff to protect ourselves against what is happening or are we truly f*cked?
