Corporate: Can you still work?

We had something like this happen. We had an older man working at our store (he's in his 70s or 80s) so he only worked front register. His health wasn't doing good and he was on medication that made him off balance and feel funny. One day he took a spill and was on the ground. The SM was just walking around him while the shift had to go over and see if he was alright and help him get up.

SM was gonna let him keep working because we were short, but the shift argued with him that clearly the older guy needed to go home. Then the shift was talking about getting an uber or something for him, but the SM just let him drive home.

> but the SM just let him drive home.

Jesus, lawsuit time for his family if he'd killed himself or anyone else.

He was on really heavy painkillers from surgeries and is still out on disability from his most recent one and we don't think he's gonna be coming back.

I could never after cleaning the floors
rudebii 8 points 2y ago
Not my store but we had a green bean faint on her second day on the floor at a store in my district. I never heard why she fainted, and as a supervisor I wasn’t about to ask, but I did ask if the story was true and she said yeah.
hailvy 4 points 2y ago
“It infringes on their medical rights” yeah I get that but it sucks we can’t ask bc it’s most likely the stress and running around so much
rudebii 3 points 2y ago
This was months later and as a shift covering from another store it was certainly none of business, but the gossip coffee vine being what it is, i did like one of those “Sarah? Are you the Sarah that fainted on reg her second day?” question.
hailvy 5 points 2y ago
Ahh that makes sense. Hope she’s doing alright!
rudebii 3 points 2y ago
She took it in stride. I think I heard it was dehydration or w/e. IIRC, she was with the bux for a few years, was promoted to lead eventually, and when she left it was to pursue her career.

Why does this look like 3 different stores in my central Florida area? Corporate needs to get more creative.

How many espresso machines do y’all have? We only have two😭
ryguyaf [OP] 6 points 2y ago
We have 3

Third “bar” is mainly to make personal drink so employees are out of the way
hailvy 3 points 2y ago
Yo that’s amazing I wish more stores had that
spark908 3 points 2y ago

No mountains in this state

However the trade off is alligators
spark908 3 points 2y ago
Oh! We have an alligator on a mountain. I think I'd rather have a rock alligator than real alligators XD
