Honestly.. the machine is amazing to use. Very very simple to use compared to the 1. I feel as if it runs internal rinses quite a bit more frequent. But overall amazing. You will have to pill the machines every night during close. Or else it will breakdown.. (a lot). It’s broken down quite a bit at my store. Finally the repairman said to pill every night. Instead of mornings. And it stopped needing maintenance :). Although it does suck when it needs a pill mid day. But better than the machine breaking down mid rush.

grounds drawer is underneath, make sure the tray is fully against the machine, keep it full or it’ll mess with the calibration, steam wand has 2 settings, pull it all the way down. buttons are pretty self explanatory but there’s a lot of them. just don’t touch the metal looking thing behind the machine, it’s the heater and is hot as fuck.

It aerates milk faster!! You get a lot more foam faster so watch the milk closely while you’re getting used to it. I only aerate lattes for one second now.

Be careful when cleaning the hoppers! If dropped, it'll become chipped and the Mastrena won't detect that hopper and lock itself. Should this happen, you can tape the broken part in place (if it's big and safe enough to do so).

That said, having three hoppers to use and being able to grind three shots in one go is amazing. Enjoy!

Bonus tip: Make friends with nearby stores that also use the M2s. Cleaning pills are bigger and sometimes out of stock for no apparent reason.

Don’t put anything on top of the hoppers. It’s very tempting since the hoppers are flat,but this will also cause a lot of issues along the way.

These machines are super easy to use. There isn’t a big learning curve when switching to them. You can pull three shots at once without having to grind twice, which is great! One thing I find super useful is cancelling shots. You can press the X with the rotary dial once to cancel the current shot, or press and hold to cancel all the shots in the queue. You can also queue up rinses, even though the machine doesn’t require you to press rinse.

I hope you enjoy the new machines! My store still has the old ones unfortunately. I can’t wait until we get the new ones.
