Starting Wage for New Baristas (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Due-Statistician1109
So I was just told by someone in my store that the new starting wage for baristas in my district (maybe state idk) is now $11. I still make $10.24 and she still makes $9.75. How does Starbucks expect to keep employees for very long if they pay the new hires more than experienced baristas?? I get it’s a hiring incentive but jfc

Your pay should go up to the market rate. The last time they raised the starting pay, to $10, anyone who wasn’t there yet got a raise. Check your paystub to verify. :)

Every corporate store in US starts at at least $10/hr. If your market recently increased, congratulations so did you! It may not show up until your next pay period depending on when the increase went through. Check your pay statement on my partner info to verify. There is a number at the top to call if you have any pay questions or concerns.

When I started I got 9.75 and then got the company wide pay increase at the start of the year and it went to 10.24. About 2 months ago, the starting wage increased to 10.25 and I was still getting paid 10.24 (barely a difference but at that point I had been there 8 months)
