It doesn’t actually “reset”. But, the system keeps record of its usage, and which discounts are applied. There are times when I’ll use a food markout in the AM, then forget to tell my friend ringing me out when I’m leaving, and they’ll use my numbers on food again. The discount is applied, and you can’t take it back, but your manager, DM, etc. up the chain can see, and take action if they think you’re abusing the benefit.

Yeah as long as you’re only using it once a day you will be fine. Only time you can get in trouble is if you’re using it multiple times a day often enough that your SM or DM notices. We’ve all accidentally used it twice in a day occasionally, no big deal. Don’t worry about if it’s within the same 24 hour period or whatever, like one night and the next morning, that’s not really the rule

i’m pretty sure it doesn’t matter the time of day, so i’m assuming it resets at midnight :)

everyone else’s comments are true! but there has been some confusion regarding the free food benefit whether you still only get one free food item when you’re working or you get two. a shift at my store has been doing two almost every shift since the beginning of the pandemic and there’s been no action against her for it. all that to say, i’m not advocating you do that, but it really just depends on where you are if they’re gonna be really looking for that
