Any ideas for how to make the funnel cake syrup taste better? (self.starbucksbaristas)

My store has a TON of funnel cake syrup so I was thinking that if there was a way to make it actually go decently in drinks then it could get used up and we wouldn't have to toss out like 15 billion bottles of it when Starbucks finally gives up on the monstrosity that is the strawberry funnel cake frappuccino.
I tried it with mocha and java chips instead of strawberry and that was okay. Cinnamon dolce is going to be my next attempt (thinking it might come out like a graham cracker...?) but I'm sure others have tried it with other things so figured I'd see if anyone found something delicious and wanted to share.

I’ve found the best way is to mix it with the kiwi refresher, and pour it down the drain.

Fraps are my favorite drink. This is the first drink at Starbucks that I purchased, and sheepishly walked back up to the send-off counter and asked for a different Frap. I predicted the FunnelCake Frap would die fast. Not a repeat kinda drink for most Starbucks regulars.
Doesn't Starbucks have a team to decide and veto new recipes? This one should have never made it past the test kitchen.
The person who created this recipe must of been related to a important board member and everyone in the kitchen was scared to sound Karen and nix this recipe for fear of backlash.
How else would this recipe make it to featured new drink? Too bad they don't have a test market to try it out before going nationwide, if they have a questionable flavor.

I wish that were the case.
I can though recommend trying a strawberries and cream frappuccino with vanilla bean powder, java chips, and mocha! It'll probably be around $7 for a venti but it's super good! Tastes like a chocolate covered strawberry.
Also if you like syrup frappuccinos and apple juice - try a syrup creme frappuccino, NO milk sub apple juice and then cinnamon dolce syrup with caramel drizzle. You'll end up with a frappuccino that tastes kinda like an apple turnover.

I found that if you use HC, 1 less pump, and a scoop of vanilla bean isn’t AWFUL, but it’s definitely a sugar bomb. I don’t mind it in cold brews oddly enough

It is super sugary. And customers keep asking if we like it and I'm like "if you like sugar then yes because it's very sweet... if you try it and don't like it then we can make you something different." I've had to remake several different things for customers who don't like it. Not that I blame them at all. I usually make them a strawberries and creme frappuccino with java chips as a replacement (they love that).
And ooooo I'll have to try it in a cold brew. See if I like it any better.

It’s such a unique flavor, and not a good one! When customers ask how it is I’m like… we’ll it’s popular (I’m in Texas and I swear to god every drink is a sugar bomb)

Right?! I'm in Indiana and it's just as bad. Today I had to decipher a ticket for a mobile that ended up having like 30 pumps of various syrups. I'm like "so you'd like some coffee with your sugar?"
Oh! And one day I was working there was a lady ordering a venti latte with vanilla syrup and she's like "make sure that has plenty of syrup... I don't like the taste of coffee!" I just about died from keeping my laughter in.

Also yeah we have a regular who gets a venti French vanilla IC w classic and cream so it’s 6 pumps classic, 6 vanilla, 6 hazelnut and I could never imagine.

Honestly, try it as the creme version.. maybe add a scoop of vanilla bean powder and extra purée. It’s pretty tasty and much better. I think It’s the roast that throws it off.

Yes on purée! Cinnamon and strawberry go together somewhat and gives me real funnel cake vibes. If you like sweet do 2/3/4 pumps of chai, if not do like 1/2/2 on the bottom of the cup

I definitely like the mocha more so than the strawberry when I tried it! I feel like the strawberry makes it a bit too sweet. I'm not super big on the mocha though so I'd probably half the pumps if I made it for me...

People in the Midwest love white mocha, caramel drizzle, peppermint syrup, and/or hazelnut syrup in everything LoL and my store is out of hazelnut AND peppermint so customers come through the drive and are like "do you have hazelnut/peppermint yet?" And we're like "no... sorryyyyyy!" And the customer usually drives away.
We've been recommending raspberry in everything. Waiting for my manager to tell us that we now have a raspberry shortage LoL

One on the baristas at my store made it with soy and i think cinnamon dolce? Maybe caramel drizzle too? and that didnt taste bad. The soy milk give it a better flavor than whole

I am not a frequenter of these flashy tiktok garbage drinks mostly bc I’m not an asshole who wants to make someone work extra for naught.. nor am I a barista of any sort. I do however have a good grasp of flavor mixes. Sort of my secret skill. Lol. I’m saying that, if I were to unabashedly order the customized type drink I would try with cinnamon of some type. No strawberry. It would taste close to a churro? Maybe.. idk. I haven’t tasted this drink solely for the response online that it taste absolutely horrid. Lmao.

As a barista, thank you! A majority of us hate making frappuccinos, they're glorified milkshakes of mostly ice and syrup. Plus they take an absurd amount of time since they consist of multiple steps.
The same with a lot of modified drinks. Granted, I don't mind some modifications. But there does need to be a limit and making a drink shouldn't feel like a scavenger hunt.
I will try out the cinnamon dolce flavor combined with the funnel cake syrup. A lot of people have said that it is good combined.

I’ve been making a frappuccino for myself with it! I do, in a grande cup:
-4 pumps frapp roast
-1 pump funnel cake
-2 pumps dark caramel
-1 pump regular caramel
-1 pump cinnamon dolce
-2 pumps mocha
-2 scoops frapp chips
between the frapp and the whip, I put caramel crunchies, then on top of the whip I do mocha cookie bits, mocha sauce, and dark caramel.
Yes it’s so much sugar, but it’s also so delicious and gets me through a shift.

i recommend 2 pumps funnel cake to 6 white mocha and its pretty good, add 1 pump brown sugar and its a good blend but really funnel cale tastes like graham crackers so thats with white chocolate makes it taste like a white chocolate macadamia cookie
