I’ve been at the bux since September but I’m still learning/trying to remember standards for things. Earlier today on bar, another barista told me that all drinks with cold foam get the nitro lids, even if it’s not a cold brew drink and regardless of size(besides trenta) because the foam needs to be sipped differently. Is this true? I am just a bit confused because I thought they were called nitro lids for a reason. Thanks in advance!

This is practice at my stores as well. The only cup you can do it with is trenta obviously.
So unless it’s on a frapp or layered oddly I give them a nitro lid.

Yup! Cold foam = nitro lid! (Excluding Trenta)

I think we had those lids before they started the cold foam drinks so they were originally for the nitro, hence the name.

Yup! You can find it on partner hub under “cold lid standards”
