Tall rant (self.starbucksbaristas)

I love my job so much and I am really happy. sometimes in my work group chat the constant talk of raising the customer connections and the rules that honestly I could care less about just get me so upset. Makes me unmotivated the more customer connections is pushed upon us. I work hard and I love my customers but idk this is a multimillion dollar company like they couldn’t give a shit about us partners and I think a majority of us know that.

Honestly felt this, but I don’t get paid enough to care. They’re so uptight sometimes and it annoys me

Work group chats are not required. You should be able to leave it without repercussions.

I never knew why customer connections were so important until I became a ssv. If you didn’t know when a customer pays with their app there is a chance they can get a survey and on it there is a question that says “how well do you agree with the statement: the barista make an attempt to get to know me” the customer picks a number 1-7. 1 being strongly disagree and 7 being strongly agree. Anything but a 7 decreases our score. That’s why even if you are nice and get to know the customer it’s sometimes not enough. I personally think customer connections are better when it’s not forced because the customer can tell when a barista isn’t authentic but there’s so much pressure on the sm from the dm that gets translated to ssv to make sure baristas are talking to everyone.

Wow, that's the last think we talk about in out chat. Yes, sometimes we get the photo of the trash that's not double bagged but we understand that it's a partner not having a good time at the moment. Mostly we are silly, or seeking coverage, or planning a birthday surprise for sm and tbh it doesn't feel like work to open the group. I don't know how it would fly to ask them to tone down the shop talk or start a separate "fun and camaraderie" group chat, just make sure everyone knows and is invited
