Are You Saving / Investing Money From Your Paychecks? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by failing-paradox
My dear baristas - do you think you're making enough to save some money from every paycheck? Is that something you find hard to do or is this something you've always been doing?

Saving money is great. If you can, look into investing and put some money into popular ETFs. Very easy to do and it's not time-consuming. You can add whatever amount you can afford to do so (on a monthly / weekly basis). You'll thank yourself in the future!

The internet has so much information on this (YouTube, Reddit, etc). If you want some personal advice, feel free to ask!

I’ve been trying to invest some money, comes down to like 100$ that goes into it every pay cuz I can’t afford more. Slowly but surely getting some results though!

I like the VUG etf! (vanguard growth) Its a bundle of high growth stocks like Microsoft/Apple/Amazon so theres a lot less risk that buying individual stocks. I don’t like to support and invest all these monopoly companies, but they’re making money off of us anyway. Might as well get our cut of the cake back.

Though in reality you’re barely profiting considering inflation. You’re probably just breaking even. Let any extra income sit around in the bank and it loses value with inflation. You almost need to invest for your money to be worth anything if you have the privilege of extra cash.

Pro tip: Try not to panic if you holdings drop in value. Honestly try not to even check your portfolio. Treat money you invest as money you don’t have anymore. Long term hold until you actually need it!
