Why on Earth do customer feel free to reach over the bar?. Need sugar, I'll get it for you. Need a splash stick, I'll get it for you. Need a straw, I'll get it for you. Need a drink carrier, I'll get it for you. Do you do this at any other establishment? If the answer is no, then.... STOP REACHING OVER MY GODDAMN BAR!

Entitlement. We aren't people, we are coffee dispenser robots with faces, and as such customers expect to be able to do whatever they want to/around us.

You are so right about that. I forget that my humanness is gone once I put on the green apron.

I miss the plexis and it's only been a few week. They didn't 100% stop the reach but it did make it so we were able to say, "The plexi glass is there for a reason. I'll get it for you." And make them look and hopefully feel a bit stupid.

I think people are mush more brazen now.
[deleted]4 points2y ago
they took your plexi down???
krym32zamoon10 points2y ago
Yup, all of them. I watched it go in the last 30 mins of my shift and it freaked me out. Now every day we just have customers yell us how relieved and happy they are that b they're down and look at the open space. I wish they were still up...

if my store gets ours taken down im gonna walk out. already don’t feel safe with covid and it’s still way too soon to have everything go back to normal

One time a customer (older man) walked all the way behind the bar to grab a packet of sugar before we noticed… like why would that be ok pls just ask😭

I want to adopt a cat and train it to smack customers hands when they try to reach over. Its can be in charge of customer connections
itsmekendar3 points2y ago
Y'all have stoppers? 😭
Royal_Concentrate_00 [OP]3 points2y ago
Got some today for the first time in over a month! Which is why I'm also particularly pissy about people taking them.
[deleted]3 points2y ago
I guess it depends on the store but my last store had the mobiles out on a tray for customers to grab along with straws, drink carriers, napkins etc. At my current store customers can’t grab anything themselves and it’s right down the street from my old store. I assume customers sometimes don’t know what the rules are :/

"please let us get that for you next time as it is a health code violation for you to reach over the counter" usually scares people a touch when they realize they are breaking health code.
Royal_Concentrate_00 [OP]2 points2y ago
Ahh, yes. The Health Code card. I'll use that.
