Because corporate has shown that they will never admit there’s a supply shortage.

Yeah…a lady cussed one of our partners (a minor) out and I hopped on the headset and told her to leave. Horrible. All because we were out of plain bagels lmao.
jy_mee9 points2y ago
We had the same situation because we're out of caramel and dark caramel
Sparkflyr13 points2y ago
All the partners saying to use item availability but I know full well half of the stuff we are out of isn't listed. There are no sweeteners on the list and most of the syrups included are just the promotion ones and a few rag tag flavors that aren't the issue. Plus if there's is a way to use the computer as a ssv or manager to take more off I have an issue with that because its impractical to have so many different lists to edit. just make one well organized list of all components and make it user friendly for all partners

If it’s marked out, it won’t let anyone order through mobile orders UNLESS it is a part of a saved order. If someone has an order saved as a favorite, they’ll let that person order, regardless of if we have it or not

do you ever go under item availability in the POS, it is possible to turn almost everything off. I know this from working for the company
dazedandconfusedhere24 points2y ago
You can’t turn off a lot of the syrups and stuff though, which makes it hard when we’re out of things likenhazelnut and Splenda
kingcorg17 points2y ago
You definitely can turn syrups off. We’ve had almost all of our syrups turned off for a while because they’re hard to keep in stock
dazedandconfusedhere2 points2y ago
They must’ve changed it in the past month then, because before you couldn’t (we ran out of caramel syrup and couldn’t turn it off, same thing when we ran out of vanilla)
BabySteele5 points2y ago
We're you trying to mark it out using the item availability button that shows you everything or the one that puts a 🚫 over the thing? Cause you can most certainly mark out syrups. And my store ran out of splenda too and our ssv had to do something but was able to also turn it off on the computer. So it is possible.
saltyandfaulty2 points2y ago
You should be able to, I have done it before. Maybe your system isn't up to date or there was something wrong with the internet. The pos can be weird
prmb_19985 points2y ago
To day, we don’t have “WC” and “VSCCF” people where like, WTF, and other people where ok. To day was stressful shift. And to complement that, we were low on staff, and part of the food were frozen😭
BTW This is Starbucks PR
Flowerfuls3 points2y ago
In the mobile availability section for us at the bottom there’s a category for beverage components. That lets us turn off individual syrups and stuff!!
flusflus2 points2y ago
honestly think because it can be a talking point for a customer connection. i think not telling them specifically is just a huge waste of time.

Item Availability.
Sirmarchboy221 points2y ago
You can turn off most syrups, the only one I know that's you can't is vanilla. Even using the item availability button, it will tell you whether it's disabling it on mobile or not. Most food works with just the button, but most drink components need to be manually found and turned off
