This isn't so much a single bad coworker deal, but I accept nearly every extra shift I can get; me saying no is a rarity. I've said yes everything, be it someone going home for a migraine to someone planning to drink wanting the next day off.
I needed to get a shift taken/traded for some important appointments; the kind of thing I couldn't put off for the 3 week approval. Posted in the group chat.

Always projecting their bad mood on the rest of the team and being rude to the green beans.

Any shift who cares about DTO times
Traditional-Bad39334 points2y ago
As a ssv this is hilarious. My sm makes us send her our ending peak numbers to hold us accountable so every time before peak I tell my team “the only reason I’m bitching at you is because someone is bitching at me”
asdfjklyss19 points2y ago
Hahahahaha if only I could say the numerous things on here but it would immediately give my store away and I’d be fired so goddamn fast

when anyone tells me to focus on connections. no. if they happen naturally that's fine but i will never "focus" on them.
obviousthrowaway_5122 points2y ago
that is, unfortunately, part of your job.

You are free to believe it shouldn't. and yes, when there are other things to be done, that should be the focus above connections. However connections have always been part of the brand. There's a reason why starbucks isn't a franchise. Not saying I like it either, but other companies not doing this, is not a defense. This is in your job description. I recommend just trying to figure out which shifts to be talkative around and which are more lenient.

People who take the job too seriously. Like we make crap pay. I don’t understand going above and beyond…especially when they don’t even want to move up.
Adventurous-Path-9766 points2y ago
Just having no idea how to do anything at all and wandering away from window to pull food from my fridge while I’m on warming. She’s had multiple complaints so idk if she’ll be there much longer
Kindly-Wear-62905 points2y ago
Partners who complain about closing but have no sense of urgency and are the reason you have to stay late.
nightkat895 points2y ago
Brownnosing with the SM so they get consistent work shifts with open availability.
Playing “know it all” when being with the company for a month
Not cleaning up after themselves even after being reminded several times

When I was still new, it was maybe my 3rd or 4th shift on my own, I was making a caramel ribbon crunch creme for myself before my 30 (the shift allows us to make our own drinks) and a barista trainer was like “who is that for?” and I said, “me, i’m going on my 30” and she looked at me, snatched the cup out of my hand AS IM PUTTING CARAMEL DRIZZLE AROUND THE CUP, and said “you can’t make your own drinks. my trainee will make it”
I rolled my eyes and didn’t fight it, so I got my stuff and waited for my drink. Alas, the barista trainer didn’t explain that my frappe was a CREME frappe (i don’t like coffee, don’t ask) and i looked at her, threw it in the trash, and left the store to grab lunch.

Not gonna talk about current ones BUT, we had a barista that used to sneeze while on the till serving customers and would wipe their snot on their sleeve in front of the customers. Same barista would never pass the cups on the bar but was demanding we go and get them from the till. The occasional tapping of the cup on the counter would occur if we hadn't noticed there was an order. Also, they would go through the mark outs before close and take home boxes of muffins at the end of their shift. Any and every shift. There's more but it would take me all day!
impasse6023 points2y ago
Umm become trainer and then shit on every trainee that walks through the door and then said trainee has to get re-trained by a barista and then when that trainer gets promoted to shift, they start acting like their word is God
aronelo3 points2y ago
Honestly, when other baristas get in my way while I’m trying to do bar or warming during peak. I know that they just want to make sure everything is stocked and counted, but I need those fridges closed so I can do my job!!

Coworker this afternoon got winked at in the drive through by a partner from another store.
I hope he had something in his eye.
I've refused service to people who sexually harass partners, but never almost had to do it to a fellow partner.
