submitted by purpsle
hey guys, i’m a new partner and i’m working my first opening shift this saturday. anyone have tips or anything i should keep in mind? I worked at, let’s say, a conservative Christian chicken themed establishment for a little over 3 years, so I’m prepared for how crazy a weekend morning can be, but I’m new to sbux. the other baristas are all really nice but i don’t wanna get in anybody’s way or bring the team down.

you got it! you’ll have a team to support you! everyone makes mistakes… i’ve been here for 3 years and do it all the time! just maintain your position and ask questions! weekends are busy, but don’t be afraid to ask for help.

I would say multitasking is super important! Of course your shift and partners will tell you what to do or what’s going on, but my typical course of action at the register is to make sure ovens are cleaned ASAP (my store cleans them in mornings idk if y’all do) because the worst is cleaning them during rush, & to be cleaning other smaller items like pastry case or whatever while they cool down and heat up (:
