Having chats with Baristas about their behavior is the literal worst part of being a SSV. I need to have one with one partner but he keeps adding to the list of things and I’m not even sure where to start. Also, it’s coupled with him being very defensive about ANY criticism, even when it’s nothing serious and just normal coaching.

I want to have another SSV there to cover myself because I’m sure he’ll get dramatic but also can see how that could be considered “intimidation”. But they really need to pull it together because I can’t keep going on working with this.

I’d talk to your Manager about the situation and ask them how to handle it going forward since you weren’t yelling but they’ve perceived criticism as such.
