“Okay, it was going to be a grande iced brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, it’s gonna be $X.YZ”
*gives customer drink*

“Umm, can you shake it more?”

“Oh, of course let me get that for you!”
*pours drink into shaker and shakes*
“Okay, here you go, so sorry abou—“

“It’s still not shaken right, all the coffee is at the bottom. 😐”

“Oh! Haha. See, the drink is meant to be that way, with the dark at the bottom and the light at the top, it’s because it’s topped with Oatmilk!”

“Yes, but I requested it shaken¿”

😤…😮‍💨 “I know, it’s shaken first then topped with oat milk. If you want all the contents to mix you can request for it to be stirred next time.”

“Oh okay, but I wanted it mixed?”

… “Okay, thank-you so much, enjoy!” 🤠

Coworker to Me: “Yeesh, do they not know what the drink they order looks like?”

reminds me of the people that look at me like i’m a dumbass when i hand them an iced caramel macchiato and ask “… can you stir it?”

nobody knows what the hell they’re ordering, i’m convinced of it at this point

it's genuinely mind-boggling, especially when so many baristas at DTO and front register spend so much time and energy to try to make sure that they're ordering the thing they actually want

I can understand asking for a Caramel Macchiato stirred or upside down because its actually cheaper than ordering a vanilla latte with Caramel drizzle
tacticalcop 11 points 2y ago
no, when they ask for a straight up caramel macchiato and wonder why it’s made like that
Darcie_Autham 1 points 2y ago
Should really be called Vanilla Macchiato. But I don’t think customers would order it as much…

That single beverage is doing so much to sour customer relations! They post a photo in a full cup but half our staff makes it with an inch of room, especially if the customer specifies light ice and the partner on bar gets angry at the partner on hand out if the latter adds additional milk to satisfy the customer. Yeah yeah I know about the update in March

I’m think I remember seeing that the shaken espressos are supposed to be filled to the top. On the app the describe it as “topped” which would imply it was filled with almond milk. Then again I quit recently so I could be wrong.

What did the March update say?
FfierceLaw 3 points 2y ago
I don’t have it exactly, but concerning the bsose it said to top it off with more milk if the customer wants, it may be only when they specify light ice. Frankly I think if they’re properly shaken you don’t have to add more than 4 oz of milk to fill the cup

Customers looking at me confused and angrily asking me for a stir stick when I give them anything with vsc foam

Or I get ones mad if it looks too mixed in, they want “the raft”
