As an outside hire, things will be very, VERY difficult for you at first if you get the position.

pay as much attention as you can during your barista training and try to study outside of work if you really want this to work. without a good understanding of the roles and routines that baristas have, you will be unable to coach others and will be a liability yourself on the floor - if this happens your more seasoned partners will absolutely not respect you.

Will Starbucks give me the resources to study? Are there resources I can start looking at now?

I know my success as a shift supervisor will be dependent on how quickly I make myself useful and learn the barista role. I hope they let me spend some time in the barista role. Thank you for your help.
