Trenta Rant: My district manager sucks (self.starbucksbaristas)

The city I live in is in the middle of a boil water notice. As in, the water is not safe to drink unless you boil the water for 2 minutes. My store and every other store in the city has been closed for almost a full week now. Our district manager doesn’t want to give us Catastrophe pay, which we should be getting because we got it last time it happened. He’s saying we’re not getting it because we’re lazy, but we literally can’t work. It’s not like the company can’t afford to pay us, but our DM just hates us I guess. We already reported it to the person above him ( regional manager?) and we’re waiting for it to get figured out. I hate my job 🙃

Partner resources should be able to do something about this, they have helped in situations in the past like this for our district, the facts should go on the record too to help as the boss above may try to sweep it under the rug…. I’d have a few partners call and complain to get it on record especially if you have a terrible dm helps build a future case.

ohhhhh I think I know where! its in the city of Texas where it went into effect like last Monday or Tuesday right like around 5pm? I work at a licensed store and my Sbux DM is on leave till the 12 so no communication from him yet. But makes me wonder if we have the same DM or if it’s different for licensed and corporate stores?

Yups that’s the one. I’ve been fighting for my baristas hours not to get cut. When I’m not scheduled they cut them but if I’m there I fight tooth and nail with management to not make any decisions without me present. His name starts with an L. Oh if you guys need oat milk or guava…or cinnamon dolce…. even venti cups, when we open, lemme know. Have 96 oat milks and like 5 boxes of guava…

Lols hit me up if anything. I tend to over order. We didn’t have any PAR set up until this week so barely getting my store in order with inventory. Had to toss 12 bags of decaf espresso today cause our store doesn’t use them that often for the amount we had.
Our sbux is located next to the Best Buy (not the one in bullock) so call our store if y’all need anything and ask to be transferred to someone from sbux. Wishing y’all the best too!
