I got banned from r/Starbucks for saying Starbucks isn’t a bad place to work. I guess that’s an unpopular opinion now! (self.starbucksbaristas)

Full post?

It wasn’t a post. Someone was complaining and all I said was “Starbucks isn’t that bad. I worked at Subway and it was much worse.” Boom. Permanent ban.

Feels like you were downplaying the post’s OP feelings though…

(also, imho, sounds like OP might be avoiding mentioning more information)

They are! They were never banned, not from here nor from /r/Starbucks

LOL im also an ex subway employee now starbucks 🤣

I worked at Subway in college and it wasn’t bad, but I just love the vibe of my Starbucks so much more! Everyone just seems genuinely happy to see each other, they’re very positive, and I love the coffee.
I have no idea why people spend so much time and effort running it down.

Damn that sucks

You realize that both sub Reddit’s are moderated by the same mod right lol
StormTheParade 1 points 2y ago
This one is moderated much much more loosely! There's a whole team there, this one is just me.

Good! I’m sure you’ll be much more reasonable. When I asked for clarification, whoever was modding my comment made a nasty remark and then muted me for a month. It seemed really petty. I believe you’re probably better.

OH Okay, so you're using alternate accounts. Not a great look, considering Reddit's sitewide ToS, just so you know.

Comments in question were:

> Just quite if you feel that way. I worked at Subway for 4 years and it was much worse.

and

> I can see why they fired you😁

Then the modmail you sent to ask why you were banned:

> Why? Can you provide any information on what I did that is so egregious? Is it because I didn’t bash on Starbucks? Are all of you disgruntled employees who are just here to complain?

This would be why you received a permaban; normally if people "appeal"/ask about the ban and aren't accusatory or hostile, the ban is reduced (i.e. made temp instead). You sent 3 messages, the first two were 10 minutes apart and the third being a couple hours later. Mind you, your responses were 3 hours after the ban. This post was made roughly an hour after the second message.

My response would normally be, "what justified that response to you?" in regards to telling someone that they deserved to be fired. That doesn't fly in the main subreddit and it wouldn't fly here, either. Especially with making a whole post in the sister subreddit to stir up more controversy.

But now my question is why would you use two accounts on both subreddits, one 4 months old and one about 1 month old. Starts to lead to questions like how many accounts exactly do you have, have you been banned before for similar behaviour, etc.

Yes. I got banned for talking shit to Neo-Nazis in the past. I stand by that. I got a snarky reply to a polite statement and I snarked right back, but the matching reply was not the one I was banned for. I appreciate you having a mature response as opposed the the childish and petty one I got from the moderator. Out of curiosity was the person who was rude to me permanently banned as well, or was the mod only this aggressive towards me?
Haunting-Message-953 -1 points 2y ago
Well, I asked for clarification and was ignored. Maybe they’ll notice, but if you never hear from me again, it’s because I don’t think Starbucks is that bad😁
Magnhild94 2 points 2y ago
I understand needing to vent but that thread is starting to bring me down with all the negativity
StormTheParade 1 points 2y ago
You actually didn't send a modmail asking for clarification, but that would be the avenue you would need to go through to get that clarification.... If you had been banned.

You were never banned. I looked through modmail, and the mod log, and you were never banned or unbanned. Not sure why you feel the need to stir up controversy lol

quick edit because OP responded further down:
