venti rant on my experience working with starbucks (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by denahom-chikn
i spent a year and a half at a licensed store , and got hired into corporate as a supervisor with supervisor pay. never got the position and got dropped to barista pay with no notice, and four people from the store got promoted to supervisor, and not me, and i’m getting fewer hours.

i’ve also gotten several complaints from coworkers about being “rude and demeaning” when i talk to them, and i’ve been told several times i need to learn to be considerate of other peoples feelings, but no examples of how i’m rude or demeaning. i don’t feel like i fit in at all with my team or like i can be myself which sucks, because i know starbucks promotes being accepted for being yourself when that isn’t the case.

i finally got a better job that pays $15 an hour with 40-47 hours a week with a set m-f schedule and general public, and i can’t wait to get out of the bux. i wanted to stay and continue advancing with the company but clearly it wasn’t meant to be.
