I’ll make it short & simple. I’m a new partner, only finishing up my first week, but I was wondering if anyone has any tips on remembering drink recipes in the beginning? (I know the stores have cheat cards, but I’ve thought about making flash cards or something like that eventually)

Honestly, just gain experience making them. Don’t be afraid to ask your trainer. Focus on the regular drinks, hot lattes, capuccinos, iced latte, iced coffee/iced cold brews, Frappuccinos, americanos (hot/iced), maybe shaken espressos bc they are popular rn. Shaker drinks are really easy, just follow the lines on the cups. Best steps/most important things to get down:
Shots per drink
Pumps in each size
How to steam milk for drink
what line to fill CB or coffee or milk to
Does the drink come with whip
Does the drink come sweetened
Good luck on you’re journey!!!!

If you can try and glance at recipes off the clock it will make it easier to recall them at work. At least for new people I recommend it. Obviously you won’t get paid for it. But it would help you a lot at work.

i started a couple of months ago, so i am a newer barista. however i got certified in a week. i basically just studied the mobile app with all of the drink customizations and played around with it after work and on breaks. also youtube is definitely a big help!!

after being trained through barista basics the manager just tested me on making drinks and also different areas of the store! i’m not sure if it’s a national thing at all stores but i did receive a cute pin afterwards.
