If you have a recipe, it’s not annoying.

With that though, most baristas aren’t going to make any drizzle that we don’t have standard. I’ve gotten quite a few people ask me to mix white mocha with matcha or dragon pieces. We don’t have time for that.

That's good to know, I will avoid asking for any special drizzle. I do have a question tho, I would never do this, but if a customer walks in, and asked you to make the Count Chocula Frappuccino, how annoyed would you get?

I have no idea what that is. So long as you show up with a recipe and don’t ask for something overly complicated when the store is busy, you’ll be fine.

$1 Is this considered complicated?
SnooDonuts3398 4 points 2y ago
Not at all complicated but they discontinued the marshmallow syrup and there really isn’t a substitute for it ;(

well we don’t have marshmallow syrup lol. other than that it’s not bad at all

Ok, I think I know what you’re looking for and as a general rule of thumb asking to add X amount of stuff in a drink is fine. What most of us mean by complicated is a drink is more than one step of blending, asking us to make an additive we don’t have (like my drizzle example) or honestly asking us to layer things. The layered drinks rarely turn out looking as good as you think they will lol.

There is no secret menu. It’s all just a bunch of made up bull shit by baristas that clearly don’t have enough to do.

It's only annoying if you just say the name of the drink and expect us to know what it is. As long as you have the recipe readily available, you're fine.

Like I said, it's only annoying if you expect me to automatically know what that is. Secret menu drinks aren't a universally known thing. As long as you give me recipe, you're golden.

We don’t have a count chocula frapp on our menu, so we don’t know what that is. The “Secret Menu” isn’t a real thing. We are only trained on how to make drinks that are on our actual menu. If you have the recipe for it, that’s great. However, based on the recipe you linked, we don’t have marshmallow syrup anymore. It was discontinued a long time ago.

I didn't read the recipe but this applies to all 'secret menu' ie all non-standard drinks.. Be prepared to pay for all the added ingredients.

What I mean is, if the drink is based say on a mocha frappuccino for example and you add caramel drizzle, upcharge, cookie crumbles, uocharge, shot of espresso, upcharge, vanilla sweet cream foam, upcharge. Get my drift. People are surprised when the tall or grande frappuccinos they see on the board are $4-$5 and the one they create is now $7-$8.

We have to charge for all the extras and as we had to explain to an irate customer the other day.. It's not going in our pockets. 🤷

Depends on if you have a recipe and what you order. If you don’t have a recipe or it’s a long ass drink with multiple and complicated modifications than yes it’s annoying. If it’s minimal modifications and you give us a recipe than no you’re not.
