We did those at our store but instead of the espresso we put in sweet cream with a pump of vanilla! Much more bearable (and tastier)

Ummm I'm pretty sure they had espresso in the shot glasses/spice shakers. That's what I've seen people do before. You could also maybe not be rude and condescending as a first response to something you think is dumb.
