I don’t know if it’s just my store, but does anyone notice that when it’s hotter, or there’s a heatwave, the customers are 10 times more irritable??? every time i see that there’s a heatwave and i’m scheduled on those days, i legit have to prepare myself mentally for more angry customers. Like i get it, it’s super hot outside and that’s annoying but it doesn’t mean you can yell at minimum wage workers….

My Social Psychology course talked about an infamous ice cream study, where they served ice cream to people on a boardwalk on a hot day, and did not serve ice cream to another group on another hot day. They asked both groups on each day how they were mood wise, asking specifically about irritation or stress, and the folks who had no ice cream were more irritable. Humans, for the most part, can predictably be more frustrated when they're hot.
