Hey guys!
I was fired over some false claims and was wondering if anyone knows if the stores record audio? I’m hoping they do to help my case but if not I’m at a loss.

They don’t. I know managers have access to some of the headset audio, but that’s it. I’m sorry :(

It’s okay! I’m hoping PCC can clear it up with videos. Someone claimed I was drinking alcohol on the floor when really it was a Trader Joe’s watermelon cooler (juice and no alcohol). Crazy that I can get fired off hear say.

Could be someone who just didn’t know any better and thought because it’s called a cooler meant it’s alcohol. Sucks I didn’t get to say my side though.

Literally wtf. They can’t just fire you like that over hearsay, sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen. If I were you I’d grab another one of the coolers from Trader Joe’s and bring it to the store to prove that it isn’t made with alcohol, and tell them that firing someone based on hearsay could result in a lot of strife for the company. Such BS.

I don’t think the headset audio thing is true. They can manipulate messages to come off the headsets but there’s no recording going on with them.

My manager told me they can grab the audio from the headsets. Not all of it, but some of it.

I’m still a very firm believer that managers lie about that so we don’t use “colorful” language on the floor. If they aren’t lying my DM has heard extensively of my dildo collection. Idk how to feel about that lol

There are different laws in each state concerning obtaining recordings. Texas, for example, is a single consent state where you are allowed to record any conversation as long as you are personally participating in the conversation. However, recording conversations you are not part of is illegal without properly notifying the people you are recording. Laws like this vary state to state. I doubt Starbucks is recording audio.

There’s no way. There are way too many privacy laws that would make this so sticky that a corporation this size of Starbucks would never try it.

I believe it’s true because we lost power once and the head sets died. If they run on batteries why would they stop working? Unless I’m missing something I’m not very technologically advanced.

They still have to be transmitted through something - they aren’t Bluetooth connected to each other - they transmit through a radio box essentially and the radio box (somewhere up above your drive though screen) doesn’t run on battery.

Op that’s horrible, see if there is any camera footage of you putting the drink in the cup. Don’t be afraid to reach out to the other coworkers who drank it and be like “yo can you stand up for me given you could also be fired for this” if none of that works you go straight to PCC.

Lmao right? At least now I feel like a “main character”. I just hope everything gets cleared. I don’t want anyone getting in trouble even for bringing it up to management (that was the right thing to do). Just sucks management didn’t have my back either :(
