I’ll never forget the time someone ordered “bacon quagmires” in the drive thru. I just turned the head set off (self.starbucksbaristas)

I heard "bacon goo" instead of bacon gruyere yesterday and my fellow partner kept catching me off guard the rest of the night by just whispering "I'll have an order of the bacon goo" into the headset...and then cackling of course...

someone said “ham and swiss cross shit” instead of croissant once and it’s a running joke at our store now 😭😭 every once in a while you’ll hear “can i get uhhhhhhh butter cross shit” over the headset at random

This lady thought I’d be able to infer what she wanted, which sometimes we can, “can I get the bacon.... and yeah, you know”

No ma’am I don’t. We have like 4 bacon related foods.

I worked at a Cafe store for a bit and a guy ordered a Vanilla rabies latte and I just burst out laughing. It was really close to closing time and I was already dilerious so I couldn't stop the laughter.

He just looked at me in bewilderment, he must have been having a similar day.

What does this have to do with the original thread?

Just to make you aware, all the stores are super short staffed and making drinks and food is the priority. You’re upset over this not being done and the next person would be upset if we were doing it and they had to wait for their order. I can’t comment on the smoking, as I don’t know your state law.

Have a blessed day!

Hey friend, how about you try to have a little more empathy? Since you lurk on this sub so much, you ought to understand that baristas quite literally get abused and harassed by customers on a daily basis. We’re allowed to be upset that we’re expected to let people scream at us over a cup of coffee, all with a smile on our faces. We’re allowed to find fun in our days when so often we have to deal with people talking down to us and treating us like we’re less than human. This job can truly drain the life out of you, and for many of my fellow partners, they have no option but to stay. So maybe instead of reading a silly post about bacon egg bites and choosing to respond that we don’t deserve tips, how about you read the dozens of other threads about customers throwing scalding hot drinks at baristas, calling baristas racial slurs, stealing from our tip jars, and generally harassing us, and then reconsider your response? Times are hard right now with shortages, increasing turnover rates, “making the moment right,” and loosening COVID restrictions. Just have a little compassion. Thanks.

I can assure you that my coworkers are some of the kindest and most caring people I’ve ever met. Treat your baristas with kindness; you will get kindness and gratitude in return.

literally how was op being entitled tho. the customer ordered something in a really hilarious way and they’re just saying that they thought it was funny and people order stuff wrong all the time and sometimes they say ridiculous stuff. thats all, they didn’t complain about the job or the wage or anything. and fyi if you’ve been lurking here you should know baristas are NOT ever paid a decent wage <3 thats all thanks
