So I got a call last Friday saying that I got hired to work at Starbucks which is amazing and I am excited. But I ain’t gonna lie, I’m pretty nervous. I’ve worked at fast food before and I’m currently a hostess at a restaurant. What should I expect from working at Starbucks?? Btw, it’s inside of a Macy’s.
Any advice or feedback would be nice.

I work at a Starbucks inside a grocery store and while we don't have drive through it still can get hectic. Because this is where license location differs from a corporate location, lack of barista's. We usually only have atmost 2 people working together and only when training is when I usually have 3. Opening person can be alone anywhere from 2-3 1/2 hours while the closer.is all by themselves 3 1/2- 4 hours. But it's fun and I enjoy the fact that the customers come in. Makes it more welcoming.

First of all, work won’t be too hectic because I’m assuming there’s no drive-thru, which is hell.

Expect plenty of Karens. Even more so, expect people who have no idea what they’re ordering.

Overall, just be patient. With time and experience you’ll learn to do everything swiftly and at your own pace with your own patterns. Good luck!
