During downtime, my trainer would pretend to be a customer and had me ring up unusual orders on the front/café pos so that I could familiarize myself with the menu control layouts. It really helped in preparing me for real customer interactions on dto.
Good luck, and good work!

When I trained, I had a lot of learning to do. At first I had my green beans shadow me, but then they wouldn't have anything to do while I had to help the floor with dishes or bar, so I started allocating them to different jobs. My training usually went as follows:
They started off with their modules in MyLearning, afterwards I would take them out on the floor and walk them through everything they were "taught". Afterwards, I would have them test out drinks, make drinks, play with the POS, act like a customer, or have them DO the job while I helped the floor (during busy times). I would also test their knowledge of their "smaller" jobs by having them restock their station, clean their station, etc etc, while I shadowed THEM. There is almost always something to do, and that's something I strived to show during training, while simultaneously training the specific station we were training on for the day.
