our a/c is set to 71 degrees F, and we can't change it more than 2 degrees without calling someone. it's the middle of july and midwestern summers can get very humid. the drive-thru window being opened all the time really doesn't help.
i guess i just wanna complain about sweating a lot? i'm a fat fellow and am generally happy with my body, but this constant sweating can really ruin my day, especially if i have to clean bar floors :-/ like, i need to wipe my face on my apron constantly and i know i shouldn't do that bc that's kinda gross, but i literally Need to. it's been making me super self-conscious :-(
what temperature are y'all's stores at? do you have the same rule of not changing the temp, or is it just the building my store is in? if ur also struggling with this and/or could offer help or support, i'd really appreciate it ❤️
ps: sending all the love to each and every one of u, you do hard work and are v much appreciated ❤️❤️

I’m a green bean from a hot state and honestly don’t know the temperature rules at our store, but one of my shifts always closes the drive window and turns off the sensor opening on it when we don’t have cars coming through. It makes a difference on summer afternoons and might help you a bit!

thanks!! i try to enforce that as well, but i'm not a shift and feel weird sometimes asking the green beans to keep the windows closed. they seem to be alright with the warm air and i feel like i'm exaggerating. also, i work afternoons mostly, but the morning crew just..... doesn't close the window? there's one morning shift lead who reeeeally pushes customer connection and speed and doesn't allow the window to be closed. so coming in at noon feels like humid hellfire sometimes lmaoooooo ahaha :P i should probably talk to my manager about it tbh bc i Know there are morning people who don't appreciate the temperature lol.

Hey there, I'm a shift in a very southern, very humid state so my condolences are other you, it's hot as fuck out there.
That being said, in the shift training it was definitely noted that temperatures were to be set between a few degrees points and if we wanted anything above or below it, we would have to call it in.
That being said, I make a point to make sure that window is closed as often as it can be (for the ac and the bugs.) Best fo luck to you and stay cool my guy 💚💚

thank u, you too!!

I’m fairly new at my store having worked just a few months now, but I’m pretty sure our store doesn’t have a limit to what temp we put our air conditioning at. I wish you luck with the air issue and I hope it cools down soon for you since that’s the one thing that sucks about working in the heat

thank u!! ❤️

Yeah I’m in Louisiana, it’s miserable lol. Just make sure you’re turning it down as low as possible, and go back every now and then to make sure it didn’t go back up because ours does that for some reason. Also if your windows have those pull down curtain/blinds they help so much
twinkus [OP]2 points2y ago
ooh i didn't think of the curtains!!! tysm! :)) ❤️

Are other people also getting uncomfortably hot? If so your SM can call and talk about getting that two degree range changed a little lower. I sweat a lot and am usually always hot at work and honestly I just use paper towels on my face as needed. Better than using an apron and probably a little more effective. Also, does the drive thru window have an air curtain? If so is it working? If not someone could try and call about getting that fixed as well.
