231- here signing off. It took nearly a week for it to set in, I've been working at Starbucks for more than five years, six in November. Last Wednesday was my last day.
I don't have much more to say other than this:
You're amazing. Yeah you. Working this job is harder than I've heard anyone give it credit for. That green apron is heavy. Remember that there are people who are there for no reason other than getting their hit of dopamine from being angry at another human being. Their shit is not your shit. You're not a robot, you're not furniture that makes coffee with sugar in it. You're a wonderful human being, with thoughts, feelings, and the right to be treated with respect. Love the customers who treat you with respect, forget the ones that don't have the civility to treat you like a person. Never forget that you are wonderful, worthy, and loved.
