So my boss gave me a “final” warning/write up for something I did two weeks ago (obviously I am willing to accept consequences but why wait two weeks) and it’s a final bc I have write ups from 2018 and I never got a final so apparently I can get a final now for things I did 3 years ago. My question is can I look at my file? She says I can’t but I could have sworn my last two bosses let me look.

Write ups fall off after 6 months, there’s no way you can be on your final from write ups from 2018. Sounds like they’re trying to push you out. I’d call employee resources.

You would think right.? Do you happen to know if it’s true that partners can’t look in their own files?

Your first write up can be a final and it doesn’t even mean they’ll fire you. I know a few people who have even gotten 2 final warnings and still work for Starbucks.

Depending on your state, you have the right to review your file, although in most states they can make you run through hoops such as submitting a formal request, scheduling time to review it off the clock, etc. It’s possible there is a state that doesn’t require some sort of access but I seriously doubt it.
