I worked an opening - noon shift and I was on DTR/O the entire time (only baring to break my other partners) because my SM said "you're the best one at customer connections and we all need to do 110% today for the evaluation". Fine, whatever- I don't mind DTR since I actually like talking with people and it's a stress free position for me.

Where I drew the line was when the evaluator showed up (idk who they were I really didn't care enough to ask lmao) and she kicked her micromanagement into overdrive; she expected me to stay fully planted at the window, to never turn my back to the customer, and never grab anything myself.

I got yelled at for turning away to grab a drink that was further down the bar.

I got interrogated as to why I wasn't talking to a customer (they literally didn't speak english and I speak very little spanish).

I was *extremely* pressured (as in "talk to them now, I don't care if they don't want to.") to talk to people whos body language and attitude said "leave me the fuck alone".

I was physically stopped when I tried to grab a cup of water for someone at the window (didn't have a headset on, micro-managing SM was on the other side of the store, and we were slammed).

Lastly, I got in trouble for telling a customer, whom I already talked with ***extensively*** (and who've I had a really pleasant convo with in the past) "I'm really sorry I know you probably just want your coffee and not to talk to a 20-something but we're having an evaluation today and I'm being severely urged to talk to you right now." because "it reflected poorly on our store ethos and Starbuck's brand."

I then got a strike. Because I had already been written up before for missing work for my moms funeral (that's a story for when after I quit 💖) so ya bitch now has a strike for having a dead mom and for being honest with a customer!

Girl what the fuck we're the McDonald's of coffee shops please!!!!!!! No one gives a fuck!!! These bitches who order fraps and their tiktok abominations at 7am want fucking nothing to do with connections!!!!!!!!! I do not get paid enough for this shit, please lord Barnes and Nobel, Costco, fucking Trader Joes PLEASE TAKE ME I WANT OUT OF THIS HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
